Certified Public Technology Leadership

The goal of the Certified Public Technology Leadership program is to provide technology professionals with educational experiences and information exchange with highly successful peers that will enhance their ability to serve as leaders in their local government jurisdiction.

Certifications in public technology leadership consist of two programs.  The first program, Certified Public Technology Manager (CPTM), provides a curriculum focused on managing the technical environment within the local government setting.  The program is designed to meet the needs of managers in all local government jurisdictions.  Once the CPTM program is completed, a participant may then obtain an additional certification.  The Certified Chief Information Officer (CCIO) program is designed to build upon the CPTM program and addresses organization, governance, management and strategic planning issues from the executive leadership perspective of local government technology organizations. This program is also be appropriate for seasoned IT leaders that manage a staff of five or more.
