Signature Verification 2025 Election Cycle
Signature Verification is a two-hour course designed for elections volunteers, officials, and employees, including county canvassing board members and county supervisors of elections office employees. It is offered by the Florida Department of State to meet the requirement outlined in subsection (17) of section 97.012, Fla. Stat.:
(17) Provide formal signature matching training to supervisors of elections and county canvassing board members.
Thomas W. Vastrick has successfully completed two years (over 4,000 hrs.) of full-time, in-residence training with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Crime Laboratory in Washington, DC. He has been court-qualified hundreds of times in numerous states and the Caribbean. Mr. Vastrick has previously served on the board of directors of the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners, as an officer of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners, and on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. Mr. Vastrick has taught classes in forensic document examination at universities and field training for law enforcement and private sector security entities.
